Attard-Zejtun C 5-1
Attard’s promising youngsters once again showed their potential as they gained another emphatic win, this time against Zejtun Corinthians.
After only a few seconds Zejtun were denied by Formosa off a point-blank shot by Jean Paul Abela.
Gradually Attard gained the upper hand in the midfield sector and dominated the proceedings with Daniel Agius and Kurt Zahra going very close.
On 20 minutes the post stopped a shot by Elon Cassar but Attard managed to break the deadlock on 34 minutes through Kurt Zahra. In the 43rd minute a mistake by the Zejtun defence led to Kurt Zahra’s second personal goal with Elon Cassar making it 3-0 in the 50th minute with an excellent volley.
On the hour Lee Borg added a fourth goal for Attard but on 75 minutes Zejtun were given a penalty for a foul by Attard’s reserve keeper Simon Haber on Glenn Azzopardi Busuttil and Godwin Mifsud converted from the spot.
In the 83rd minute Attard sealed their win through Andrew Agius for a final 5-1 scoreline.

Gharghur-Mdina K 2-1
Two first half goals scored by Lawrence Vella and Robert Cassar were enough for Gharghur to beat Mdina Knghts in a match dictated by Gharghur during the first-half with Mdina gaining the initiative after the break.
Gharghur were undoubtedly the better side throughout the first part of the match with Ludvic Bartolo and Marvic Grech going very close early on.
On 18 minutes an Mdina defender handled the ball inside the penalty area off a Robert Cassar free-kick but from the resultant penalty Lawrence Vella’s shot bounced off the post.
Gharghur’s pressure finally paid off in the 31st minute with Lawrence Vella beating Cortis with a low shot and in the 44th minute an indecision by the Mdina custodian led to Robert Cassar making it 2-0 at the end of the first half.
Mdina gained the initiative after the break as they dominated the proceedings.
Nader hit the crossbar in the 62nd minute but Andre Cauchi had better luck in the 78th minute as he beat Edwards with a low shot.
In the closing stages Mdina were twice denied an equaliser with Edwards bringing off fine saves off efforts by Ian Sammut and Andre Cauchi. A minute into injury time Edwards handled the ball outside the penalty area and was sent off.

Ghaxaq-Kalkara 6-1
Ghaxaq ended their commitments for this season with an easy win over Kalkara in a match they completely dominated during the second period.
After just six minutes Kalkara went cloe through Nicky Gatt but they had better luck in the 12th minute with Anton Cassar giving them a deserved lead.
In the 31st minute the Ghaxaq goalkeeper Paul Celeste brought off a difficult save to deny Chris Borg with Ghaxaq coming back through a dangerous free-kick taken by Donatello Spiteri Sacco.
Kalkara replied again through Chris Borg whose first-timer was saved by Celeste but Ghaxaq made to draw level in the 36th minute as Kim Caruana’s through-pass was taken up by Bjorn Dalli who beat William Galea from close-range.
Ghaxaq were completely in command after the break and they deservedly took the lead through Ludvic Camilleri in the 66th minute.
On 74 minutes their best player Bjorn Dalli added a third goal for Ghaxaq and in the 80th minute Maurice Muscat made it 4-1 with a shot which completely surprised William Galea. In the final four minutes Kim Caruana scored two further goals for a final 6-1 scoreline for Ghaxaq.
