AZAD Seminar on French elections

Malta Independent Thursday, 10 May 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 15 years ago

Opposition leader Alfred Sant and Rev. Prof. Peter Serracino Inglott, the government’s nominee at the Convention on the Future of Europe, will be speaking at an AZAD seminar on last Sunday’s French presidential election.

The election has been widely described as the most momentous since 1981 – because of its likely impact on both France and Europe – but it may still be too early to predict the consequences of the result.

Dr Sant’s address will focus on the impact of the campaign and result on France, as will a speech by AZAD chairman Ranier Fsadni. Prof. Serracino Inglott will focus on the impact on Europe.

The seminar will be held at AZAD’s premises at 224 Republic Street, Valletta, on Saturday from 10am to noon. It will be chaired by Prof. Salvino Busuttil, former ambassador to France. The seminar will be conducted in English.

Those wishing to reserve seats or requiring further information may telephone 2124-7515 or write to [email protected].
