A Zabbar man was charged yesterday with stealing scratch and win cards from a lotto booth and causing damage to the same property.

Manuel Cachia, 25, pleaded not guilty to stealing cash and scratch and win cards from a lotto booth in Zabbar on 24 August 2006 to the detriment of Stephanie Bonavia.

He was also accused of causing between Lm50 and Lm500 worth of damage to the place, breaching terms of a previous release and relapsing in view of previous convictions.

Police inspector Carmelo Magri prosecuted while Dr Joe Giglio appeared for the accused.
