A 67-year-old man appeared in court yesterday to answer charges of fraudulently issuing VRT pass certificates in respect of vehicles that had not even been subjected to the test.
Louis Bonello, from Marsa, pleaded guilty to falsifying public documents by passing vehicles through VRT tests without even subjecting them to scrutiny. The charges date back to January and preceding years.
Bonello faced a total of seven charges, all related to the same act.
Police inspector Angelo Gafa prosecuted while Dr Kris Busietta and Dr Jason Azzopardi appeared for the accused.
The court, presided over by magistrate Jacqueline Padovani, is due to sentence the accused on Monday.
