It would be interesting to make an analysis of how much money is spent – and how much paper is wasted – in junk mail.
The enormous piles of junk mail I receive every day keeps growing, and I wonder if there are ways and means of stopping such mail being literally dumped in my letter box.
Each time I am away from home for a few days I end up having my letter box full of such material, with the result that the more important letters end up jutting out of the box with the risk that they either fall out and are lost, or are taken away by other people. I have experienced letters getting lost, and this happened because of this junk mail.
The point is that I simply do not open such mail – I just throw it straight into the bin. So it is wasted money and wasted paper.
It would probably be better for the people who are promoting their wares in such a way to use their money differently.
I understand that Maltapost cannot do much about this problem, considering that most of it is not delivered by postmen.
But I think that the authorities should do something about it. It is so annoying.
