Malta Independent Thursday, 10 May 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 20 years ago

This season’s promotion league was one way to La Salle, although they encountered fierce opposition from Aloysians.

The difference between the teams was the fact La Salle had a more balanced team. They had experienced players like Matthew Psaila and Mark Gilson on pivot, good backs in Ian Turban and good wings in Alessandro Zerafa and Steve.

Grima, who returned o the playing area, showed outstanding form. The individual skills of La Salle were well included in their fast play and good team play in attack and some strong aggressive defence.

La Salle always played good handball, respecting the game and always giving their utmost.

One must also mention the good performances and the brave opposition offered by the opponents mainly from Aloysians, who suffered in experience in respect to La Salle though offering some good technical handball as well.

Kavallieri and D6 battled it out for third place with the clashes between them being based on passion and heart rather than technique.

This gives more merit to La Salle who had to fight for their title, highlighting the good work being done by the club.
