10 Months’ jail for ecstasy trafficking

A man was yesterday jailed for 10 months for ecstasy possession and trafficking.

The man, who cannot be named by court order, pleaded guilty to possession and trafficking of ecstasy on and before 31 April 2004.

The court also heard a senior probation officer testify that the accused was a shy and quiet person that had always worked and came from a good family background. The court took everything into account and jailed the accused for 10 months and fined him Lm350.

Police Inspector Norbert Ciappara prosecuted while Dr Jason Azzopardi appeared for the accused.
