Brainbox will be launching their first prime-time sitcom on Wednesday 23 May at 8.30pm on TVM. Drama pioneer Lino Farrugia joins the Brainbox team for an unforgettable series on TVM. With a repertoire of drama successes such as F’Bahar Wiehed, Wirt, Id-Dar tas-Soru, Villa Sunset and Triq Wahda, his portfolio includes costume drama, sitcoms and musicals which have consistently garnered record audiences.

Miskin Mike, as the title conveys, shows the everyday situations of Mike in his various roles as a father, son, employee and husband.

The series reflects a typical Maltese family going through the everyday joys and struggles life brings. The loving family moments and mishaps and the tears and giggles will make viewers identify with their own family situations. With a cast made up of some of Malta’s most esteemed actors including Denise Mintoff, Manuel Cassar, Marylou Coppini, Anna Cachia, Paul Mintoff and Pat Mahoney under the expert direction of Lino Farrugia, Miskin Mike is set to become yet another hit sitcom on the national station.

“It was an honour for the Brainbox team to work with Lino Farrugia and the cast on this seven-episode series. We believe it is an advantage to start Miskin Mike during the spring season as viewers long for some new fresh content following an intensive autumn/winter campaign.

Viewers will also have the chance to watch exclusive behind-the-scenes footage, as well as interviews with the director, cast and crew during the 118 programmes on Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm.
