The National Orchestra of Malta is hosting a free public master class for piccolo flute specialists and enthusiasts this month. Nicola Mazzanti, a distinguished master teacher and the piccolo soloist of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, will be leading a three-hour piccolo and flute master class at the orchestra’s premises in Valletta, tomorrow at 6pm.
The class will tackle several key aspects of piccolo- and flute-playing, i.e. the challenges that musicians encounter in their practice and performance. Tone, technique and repertoire are going to be discussed in depth. During this master class, five musicians will have the opportunity to perform under the guidance of Nicola Mazzanti.
Interested musicians are invited to participate as auditors.
The public will be seeing Nicola Mazzanti performing the Vivaldi Concerto for piccolo in C Major, with the National Orchestra of Malta on Tuesday at the Manoel theatre.
