All forms of music designed to dance to are heavily reliant on rhythm, and all forms of rhythm originated from one place on Earth… Africa.

So come Saturday, the next instalment in Pure Promotions’ ever-popular Ruby & Friends series of mega-events there will be an audio and visual celebration that will be a fitting homage to the mighty continent of Africa itself. Ensconced within the lush environs of Buskett Roadhouse, this first event in this venue’s 2007 summer season will be regaling you with two arenas and a VIP area all laden in African décor and visuals, accompanied by the first-class deep house sounds of Owen Jay, a one-off and unmissable 45-minute live set from local world music sensations Tribali (www.tribalimusic.com) together with fire jugglers on a custom-built stage, and an exclusive full-on progressive back-to-back attack by DJ Ruby and DJ Ryan – their first-ever appearance together at a Ruby & Friends event. Of note is the arsenal of equipment Ruby and Ryan will be manipulating throughout their set… six CDJs, two mixers, a laptop, a DVJ and various audio and visual effects! This set will be recorded on the night and then be made available for download on www.pureruby.com soon after. As for the second room, expect a superlative array of moving house sounds from a line-up of top deck-spinners from the Maltese scene.

Ruby & Friends 53 – Africa is guaranteed to be another sonic and visual celebration that only Pure Promotions can pull off in terms of quality Maltese clubbing, so come on down to Buskett Roadhouse on Saturday and join the tribe.
