Four short plays by the famous playwright Samuel Beckett are being presented at St James Cavalier – Centre for Creativity this weekend.

Beckett fans are in for a treat with the staging of Vain Reasonings, an evening of short plays by the author of Waiting for Godot, that have never been staged in Malta before.

The plays are These, Ohio Impromptu, Rockaby Catastrophe and Not I.

Director Michael Fenech says he chose the plays for the challenge they present in staging, but also because they present Beckett’s darkly poetic theatre as a “wonderful” music.

Vain Reasonings – 4 Short works by Beckett will be performed at the Theatre in the Round at St James Cavalier for Creativity, Valletta today and tomorrow at 8pm. Among those taking part are Ray Calleja, Claire Agius, Victor Debono and Kevin Attard.

Tickets are Lm4 and concessions are Lm2.
