Malta Independent Monday, 14 May 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

The Church’s Institute for Pastoral Formation is holding the first of a series of Dialogues in Society at the Phoenicia Hotel ballroom in Floriana, on Monday at 7pm, discussing whether there was still use for the religious experience.

The aim of the meetings is to create a forum for discussing and getting to know better the Christian identity. They have been made possible through the work of a group of lay people whose coordinator is Prof. Salvinu Busuttil.

Monday’s meeting will be presided by Prof. Busuttil, and Dr Janet Mifsud and Mr Lino Spiteri will take part.

Two other meetings will be held, both at the Phoenicia ballroom at 7pm. The second meeting will be held on 21 May, discussing What type of experience is the Church?. Prof. Busuttil will preside, and Prof. Irene Sciriha, Mr Godfrey Grima and Dr Joe Mifsud will take part.

The third meeting will take place on 28 May, on the theme Quo Vadis Malta, when Dr Georg Sapiano will interview Prof. Oliver Friggieri.
