A group of immigrants landed at the Malta Freeport area of Birzebbuga yesterday, the second time this season that illegal immigrants have landed in the area.
Police officers rushed to the scene and found a boat containing some 25 African nationals, 20 of whom were men, four were women and one was a minor. The police are investigating.
Meanwhile the police said yesterday that seven people, six foreigners and one Maltese, were helping them with their investigations in respect of a separate case of human trafficking. They said they were also in contact with their Sicilian counterparts on this and other issues relating to cases of human trafficking.
