The third edition of the Malta Racing Club’s Societe du Cheval Francais (SECF) Races Championship will be held next Sunday at the Marsa Race Track.

Five French Professional drivers will be facing a number of Maltese drivers in four heats on a distance of 2140m.

The French drivers had won the first two editions of this championship held in 2005 and 2006 with the French popular driver Pierre Levesque displaying an impressive performance garnering the highest number of points and victories to the pleasure of the many racing enthusiasts at the Racetrack.

Driving the French five year old horse Offshore Dream, Pierre Levesque is this year’s triumphant winner of the world renowned Prix d’Amerique which took place at the Vincennes Racetrack in Paris last January.

The MRC-SECF encounter races coupled with the presence in Malta of such popular and professional French drivers confirm the excellent relations that exist between the Malta Racing Club and Societe du Cheval Francais.

These relations are being enhanced further as a result of the presence of the SECF Technical Director and Union Europeenne du Trot (UET) General Secretary, Jacques Chartier, who will be leading the French contingent.

The Malta Racing Club, in extending to the Maltese drivers and to the French counterparts the best of luck, augurs a grand and enjoyable afternoon to the public in general and to horse-racing enthusiasts in particular.
