Hibernians and Valetta clash this evening in the first semi-final of the U*BET FA Trophy, for a place in the final.

For both sides a win today could mean an automatic place in next season’s UEFA Cup. The other semi-final is between Sliema Wanderers and Msida SJ programmed for next Sunday at 6pm.

The holders Hibernians eliminated Marsa in the quarters, with Valletta eliminating first division sides San Gwann and Mqabba in the first rounds, and new champions Marsaxlokk after a penalty shoot-out in the quarter finals.

Both sides are expected to field their best elements this evening. This will be the fifth match between these two sides this evening with Hibernians winning two, Valletta won the last clash 3-1, with the other match ending in a 2-2.

A keen tussles is anticipated between these sides, two sides who have all the potential to produce a thrilling semi final.
