Moviment Graffitti has expressed support for the call to save Wied Garnaw from the development of an inorganic waste separation plant.
The development application should be rejected, it said. “Sanctioning the development of an inorganic waste separation plant violates the structure plan and illustrates the inability of the Malta Environment and Planning Authority to regulate development in Outside Development zones,” it said.
The Movement added that it was unacceptable that developers keep making appeals to force Mepa to reconsider the development of green areas that have been classified as being outside development zones. The residents, together with the Save Wied Garnaw Action Group and thousands of people who signed petitions for safeguarding the valley, should be spared another period of uncertainty over the valley’s fate, it said.
