The Eurovision Song Contest has come and gone and once again we are all disappointed.
Fair enough, we did not make it to the final this time around. And we are now complaining that the televoting system does not give us an advantage.
What we fail to notice is that Chiara and Ira Losco did so well when the televoting system was already in place. We did not complain that the system put us at a disadvantage then.
So what is the core problem here? The fact is that the songs presented by Chiara and Ira Losco were of a high standard, ably performed and struck a chord with the viewers. As far as I can remember, they were alone on the stage. They had only themselves, their voice and a beautiful song. And this is why they did well.
Let us remember this next year when we choose our representative.
