Corporate social responsibility has been at the forefront of HSBC Bank Malta’s ethos ever since it started operations in Malta. Over the years, it has launched three successful funds that have contributed significantly to social cohesion in the areas of education, children, heritage and the environment.

HSBC’s commitment to disadvantaged children is being showcased at the Caring Organisations Fair, being held at the Malta Trade Fair Grounds in Naxxar, this weekend.

The Vodafone Malta Foundation is also supporting the fair.

This is the seventh edition of the fair whose objective is to give voluntary organisations the opportunity to increase awareness of their services rendered within the community, to encourage the atmosphere of co-ordination between the organisations and to persuade more members of the public to join the voluntary service.

The objectives of the HSBC Cares For Children Fund are the main highlights of HSBC’s attractive pavilion. The stand displays detailed information about the fund’s three main areas of work, those of education, recreation and rehabilitation.

“We are also publishing the Caring Organisations Directory, a reference book distributed to local councils, parish churches, schools, medical professionals and the general public. This publication and the fair itself cost quite a sum of money and we are grateful for the support given by both Vodafone Malta Foundation and HSBC Cares For Children Fund,” said Alfred V. Calleja, co-ordinator, Caring Organisation Support.

The Malta Trade Fair Corporation is providing the venue free of charge.
