Malta-Tunisia Touristic relations

Within the framework of the celebration of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Tunisia and Malta, H.E. Mohamed Ali Ganzoui, Ambassador of Tunisia to Malta, organised a reception at his residence Dar Carthage for the promotion of Tunisian tourism in Malta.

The reception was attended by Moncef Zouari, director general of Tuninter, Afif Mehrzi, deputy director general of the Tunisian National Office of Tourism (ONTT), Fethi Memi, representative of the ONTT in Italy, as well as Joseph Mifsud, head of the secretariat of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Michael Frendo and Leslie Vella, marketing director at the Malta Tourism Authority. The organising committee of the sixth edition of the Yacht Racing (the Phoenician Experience), to be held between Malta and Tunisia on 27 July to 2 August, and a number of journalists

and tour operators also attended.

In the workshop about strategies likely to further enhance the touristic flow between Tunisia and Malta, H.E. Mohamed Ali Ganzoui stressed the crucial importance of the excellent friendship and cooperation between Tunisia and Malta for the consolidation of the touristic flow, in bringing the people of both countries together and in promoting the values of peace, dialogue and moderation.

Mr Zouari, director general of Tuninter, emphasised the importance that the company reserves for the improvement of the services rendered to its clients, mainly in view of the future programme related to its restructuring and the modernization of its fleet. The deputy director general of the ONTT underlined the specific character of the Maltese market and the readiness of the Tunisian Tourism Board to join efforts with Maltese tour operators to further acquaint them with Tunisia and establish partnership links with their Tunisian counterparts.
