The narrow, picturesque streets of Zurrieq were transformed into a typical wedding scene from the 16th to 18th century yesterday, as visitors to the village enjoyed a re-enactment of a traditional Maltese wedding of the period. The event was organised by the cultural committee of the St Catherine’s Musical Society of Zurrieq. The “bride and groom” – Mattew and Katrina – stand on the parvis of St Andrew’s Chapel, which lies just in front of Tax-Xarolla windmill
