San Giljan registered their second win over the experimental ASA Youths side (17-8 in the first game) to up their morale for the season as they are still searching for the first official points.

The Youths once again battled hard and were in the game till the start of the fourth session but in the latter eight minutes, the Saints (again missing top scorer Matthew Zammit) made sure of the win with a 5-1 session score line.

San Giljan, who had Claudio Spiteri de Barro and Anthony Galea sharing equally ten goals, opened an early 4-1 lead after six minutes but the Youths fought back with a Timmy Agius brace.

James Spiteri Staines and Anthony Bajada kept the Youths a goal behind in the second session.

Early in the third session a Gabor Toth netting made the score 9-5

But once again the Youths replied hard with goals from David Caruana, Jordan Camilleri and Ryan Mock for 11-9.

However Galea and De Barro continued being a thorn in the Youths defence and their goals put the Saints’ mind to rest as they finished with a penalty converted by Matthew Miggiani.
