The European Trades Union Congress is holding its four-yearly congress in Seville, Spain, where a new leadership is to be elected. Among those who have addressed it so far are European Commission president Jose Manuel Barroso.
The ETUC has over 60 million members and 85 member organisations. Malta is represented on it through GWU general secretary Tony Zarb and deputy general secretary (international and education), Michael Parnis.
The GWU said over 1,310 delegates have been accredited for the congress.
