Heritage Malta Replies to MLP

Contrary to what a Malta Labour Party statement implied, Heritage Malta instructors were not working in schools but were doing technical work depending on their trade, Heritage Malta said yesterday.

This was their position when they formed part of the Maltese Centre for Restoration, and this was their position now with Heritage Malta, the agency said. These facts have all been laid out in Parliament.

It was a fact that instructors seconded with Heritage Malta were not teaching students and were therefore doing work similar to that of other Heritage Malta employees. They were asked to work the same hours as other workers, Heritage Malta said.

The instructors were told of this decision three months before it was due to be implemented, it added.
