Maltacom has responded to an Arka Foundation appeal for assistance by donating mobile phones which will come in useful to carers and facilitate communications in the course of their work.

It also said that Lm35,000 was collected in telephone pledges during a fund-raising campaign in aid of the Arka Foundation. The initiative – launched recently on two local television stations – involved a phone-in campaign over the Maltacom network.

The total amount collected – including SMS pledges and direct donations, totals Lm50,000.

Sponsoring humane initiatives with a strong social implication, such as the Arka Foundation cause – underpins the Maltacom Group’s corporate social responsibility and further reflects its strong social conscience,” said Maria Jourdan, Maltacom’s Sponsorships Manager.

During the presentation held at Maltacom’s Head Offices in Marsa, Maria Jourdan handed over the mobile telephone sets inclusive of connections to Mgr Manuel Curmi, director of Arka Foundation.
