The Miss Italia Nel Mondo Malta contest this year will be held on 6 June at the Splash and Fun Resort in Bahar ic-Caghaq.

It brings together participants of Italian descent or who have Italian surnames, and the winner will represent Malta in the international contest that will be held in Iesolo, Italy, on 25 June.

Local organiser Antonella Vassallo said that the local event will consist of an evening of fashion, talent, music and choreography, where the stars of the show will be the

21 contestants. Various titles will be awarded, apart from the main prize, which is the Miss Italia Nel Mondo Malta title.

The event in Italy will, for the 17th year, bring beauties of Italian descent from 42 countries, for the most beautiful “international” Italian girl to be selected. The participants spend a full week in Italy on promotional and modelling activities that include photo shoots, interviews and rehearsals.

The winner will receive Lm3,000 worth of publicity and promotional contracts in Italy.
