Anton Tabone, Speaker of the House of Representatives, is participating in the Conference of Speakers of EU Parliaments in Bratislava from today to Saturday.

The conference is a forum where the Speakers of the parliaments of member states of the European Union and the European Parliament meet annually. The focus of this week’s conference will be on five main themes:

• The future of Europe

• Inter-parliamentary cooperation

• Raising national European awareness

• Assistance to parliaments of new and emerging democracies

• Ukraine, the eastern neighbour of the European Union

Mr Tabone will be addressing the conference and will also take the opportunity to meet other Parliamentary Speakers and discuss bilateral relations and issues of common interest.
