This year the Lasallian community at De La Salle College is commemorating the 40th anniversary of the unveiling of the St John Baptist De La Salle Monument erected at the College’s entrance.
The inauguration and blessing of this unique monument took place on 26 May 1967 under the patronage of Brother Superior, Bro. Charles Henry fsc.
This monument is the work of the eminent artist Chev. Emvin Cremona. It was funded thanks to the voluntary donation of the first weekly salary of the then successful Dockyard apprentices who graduated from the College between 1951 and 1959.
The Former Students Association, founded in 1965, wishes to commemorate this anniversary by holding a special programme on the day, and would therefore like to invite all former students, particularly those who contributed towards the erection of the monument, to join the Lasallian family at the College this Saturday at 7.30pm.
We are appealing to all those who contributed to this worthy cause to contact us at their earliest opportunity, either by emailing us on [email protected] or by calling on 9922-9429 or 2182-6447 (college). We are also encouraging as many as can to remember to bring along any related memorabilia, such as old certificates, badges, school uniforms,
photographs, etc.
We look forward to being joined by as many former students as possible who are able to attend these celebrations.
