Malta Independent Friday, 25 May 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

There are two, maybe three, high-spending embassies in Malta’s foreign service.

The Maltese permanent representation in Brussels spent Lm280,000 in operational and maintenance expenditure last year, while the Maltese High Commission in London spent Lm246,000 and the Maltese embassy in Paris spent Lm120,000, Foreign Minister Michael Frendo told Labour MP Chris Agius.

The lowest spend was by the Maltese embassy in Moscow which spent just Lm9,000, although it gets its rent for free.

29 pilots left Air Malta

A total of 29 pilots have left Air Malta since the sign-

ing of the Memorandum of Understanding, Investments Minister Austin Gatt told Labour MP Leo Brincat. One pilot passed away and the other 28 resigned.
