Malta Shipyards and Bluewater Energy Services B.V. of The Netherlands yesterday entered into a contract for the fabrication of two Single Point Mooring Buoys for use by the offshore industry. Activities related to the contract have commenced and work at Malta Shipyards will extend to the early part of next year.

The value of the contract was not announced.

The Malta Shipyards management expressed satisfaction at being awarded the contract. Its Marsa site has since 2002 already been involved in several Bluewater contracts, including the fabrication of another four single point mooring buoys, and has established a reputation of successfully completed projects.
