This Wednesday 30 May there will be the last lunchtime concert of the season in the series of fortnightly concerts held in Teatru Manoel’s Sala Isouard. These recitals form part of the Valletta Lunchtime Concert series, organised by Teatru Manoel in conjunction with St James Cavalier. This recital will feature two young and upcoming singers, soprano Frances Catherine Farrugia and mezzo soprano Alexandra Scicluna. Ms Farrugia and Ms Scicluna are both students of Antoinette Miggiani and have participated in various concerts locally and abroad. They will be offering a programme of operatic arias which will include works by Mozart, Offenbach, Puccini and Bellini among others. They will be accompanied by pianist Robert DeBono, who will also perform Bartok’s Short Romanian Folk Dances. The recital starts at 1pm and lasts one hour.
