Melita Difital Football Awards Finalists named

The finalists in this year's Melita Digital Malta Football Awards were announced yesterday.

Valletta and Malta captain Gilbert Agius has been nominated to contest three categories while five others – Murphy Akanji (Sliema), Renato Conceicao (St George's), Daniel Bogdanovic, Jamie Pace and Kevin Sammut, will all be contesting two categories.

The finals night will be held at the Corinthia Palace Hotel, Attard on 9 June.

Best Defender

Renato Garcia Conceicao (St. George's); Luke Dimech (Marsaxlokk); Brian Said (Sliema W.).

Best Midfielder

Roderick Bajada (Sliema W.); Jamie Pace (Marsaxlokk); Kevin Sammut (Marsaxlokk).

Best Forward

Gilbert Agius (Valletta); Daniel Bogdanovic (Marsaxlokk); Ivan Woods (Sliema W.).

Best Coach

Ray Farrugia (Sliema W.); Brian Talbot (Marsaxlokk); Paul Zammit (Valletta).

Most Promising Youngster

Matthew Bartolo (Hibernians); Dyson Falzon (Valletta); Ian Zammit (Valletta).

Best Foreign Player

Murphy Akanji (Sliema W.); Ibrahim Babatunde (Msida SJ); Renato Garcia Conceicao (St. George's).

Best Maltese Player

Gilbert Agius (Valletta); Daniel Bogdanovic (Marsaxlokk); Kevin Sammut (Marsaxlokk).
