On Saturday, Kunsill Malti ghall-iSport organised a day filled with games and entertainment for its Skolasport participants at the Cottonera Sports Complex. Skolasport, which is sponsored by Kellogg’s, holds this Manifestation Day annually to officially round up the winter 2006/2007 programme. Over 1,000 children, together with their parents, were present for this event.
The activity kicked off with the assembly of Skolasport participants, followed by a series of mini-games in the main hall for children between 5 and 7 years, and outdoor games for the other participants.
Following these games, an entertainment programme was hosted by Annalise Ellul. The show started with a demonstration of techniques and skills by Skolasport’s Performance Groups in the various disciplines, including athletics, baseball, basketball, football, handball, rugby, squash, traditional karate, and volleyball.
The Skolasport Modern Dance Group also performed a Hip-Hop routine, followed by performances by Klinsmann Coleiro, the Annalise Modern Jazz Group, and an appearance by Malta’s representative for the Eurovision Song Contest, Olivia Lewis.
The Chairman and Chief Executive of Kunsill Malti ghall-iSport then handed out medals to all Skolasport participants. Kellogg’s Sales Manager for Mediterranean and CEE Area, Paul Tunney, addressed the Skolasport participants, their parents and coaches.
“We at Kellogg’s appreciate that life needs to be lived in a healthy way,” said Mr Tunney. “That is why, for over eight years, Kellogg’s have admired and supported the very important work carried out by Skolasport, in developing young Maltese people’s sporting talents. We hope that Kellogg’s sponsorship will continue to contribute towards a more health-conscious generation in Malta.”
Skolasport activities will resume on Saturday 13 October. For more information on the activities of Skolasport and the next scholastic year, visit www.sportmalta.org.mt, or contact Kunsill Malti ghall-iSport, Cottonera Sports Complex on 21660658/9 or by e-mail on [email protected].
