Middlesea Valletta Life Assurance Co. Ltd. (MSV) is the first insurance company to launch a Treating Customers Fairly Charter in Malta.
The charter outlines MSV’s key commitments to its customers as well as the standards of service that MSV customers can expect to receive from the company. The charter explains MSV’s corporate identity, mission statement and business philosophy and covers areas such as corporate responsibility, dealing with customers, customer privacy, proposal and application forms, claims, with-profits investments, the complaints procedure and service commitments.
Insurance regulators in Europe are encouraging insurance companies to take steps to make the fair treatment of customers central to their behaviour.
MSV CEO David G. Curmi said: “We are in the business of helping people have happy and secure futures. Because of our long-term relationship with over 70,000 policyholders in Malta, we want to ensure that all our existing and future customers know where they stand when they do business with our company. We are indeed proud that, as the leading life insurance company in Malta, we are the first company to make the Treating Customers Fairly initiative an integral part of our corporate and business culture.”
Mr Curmi added: “Our charter will ensure a tangible improved outcome for our customers. In our charter, we undertake to promote and provide value for money savings, investment and protection products and services that meet the needs of our customers and to provide high standards of service in order that we may be in a position to deliver a positive experience throughout a customer’s relationship with us. Moreover, in our service commitments we tell all our customers in advance the levels of service they can expect to receive when they do business with us.”
