Some 4,000 boys and girls from church, state and private schools take part in Skolasajf each year, and this summer is not expected to be an exception, as 300 university students and 130 teachers are preparing to welcome them once the academic year is over.

Permanent secretary in the Education Ministry Frans Borg launched this summer’s programme yesterday, saying that what had been planned would provide students with an “educational and creative” programme that would enable them to make better use of their free time during the summer.

Skolasajf will be open from 16 July to 10 September from 9am to noon, and the programme is open for children in Years 4 to 6. The Skolasajf centres are located in various parts of the country. Children who need a facilitator will also be offered the service.

The theme of this year’s Skolasajf is “L-ewro taghna wkoll” (“the euro is for us too”).

The closing date for applications is 8 June and participation costs Lm5.
