Employment Legislation

Malta Independent Tuesday, 29 May 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 20 years ago

The Employment and Training Corporation has reminded employers that they needed to comply with the provisions of LN110 of 1993 by informing it every time they recruit or terminate the employment of a person.

They should be notified of the engagement of a person within 24 hours, said the ETC, while a termination of employment should be notified within four days. Self-employed people must also abide by these regulations. The ETC warned that failure to do so amounted to a breach of legislative provisions and would result in legal action.
