Espadon Bar ‘A’ are the new champions of the national pool League organised by the Malta Pool Association.
This was the first ever Premier League title won by the Tarxien based team. Consistency and dedication throughout the season helped Espadon Bar keep hold of stiff challenges from other title contenders.
The Espadon Bar ‘A’ team was composed of Stephen Mangion, Ray Demanuele, Marcel Micallef, Christ Mills, Mario Brincat, Ivan Rizzo, Miguel Falzon u Andre Pace.
Top Gun Bar ‘A’ finished second while Taste Good Bar ‘B’ ended the season in third place. Ta’ Cikka Bar, Billiards Hall and Paola Wolves were relegated to First Division.
In the First Division Top Gun Bar ‘B’ were declared champions of the division with Cospicua Rangers FC finishing second. Hamrun Liberty ASC and St Vincent De Paule ended the season joined third.
With Top Gun Bar ‘B’ failing to get promoted Cospicua Rangers FC, Hamrun Liberty ASC and St Vincent De Paule were promoted to the Premier League while Taste Good Bar ‘B’, St George’s Bocci Club ‘A’ and St Michael’s Bar ‘A’ were relegated to Second Division.
Domus Kids ‘A’ won the Second Division title with St Joseph Band Club Zebbug finishing second and San Gwann Bocci Club ‘B’ landing in third place. These three teams were promoted to First Division while Anici Band Club ‘B’, Espadon Bar ‘C’ and St Michael’s Bar ‘B’ were relegated to the Third Division.
In the Third Division league Oasis Bar were the winners of Section ‘A’ while Top Gun Bar ‘C’ triumphed in Section B. The winners of the section will now meet in a decider to determine the title of Third Division. Second placed teams of each section, Ta’ Caccu Social Club and Domus Kids ‘B’ will play each other in their last attempt to grasp promotion to the Second Division.
