Malta Independent Saturday, 2 June 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 20 years ago

Singer Eleanor Cassar was recently invited to sing at a concert held in Almaty Kazakhstan.

She was one of five foreign artists invited to sing at this concert which included many well-established artists in Kazakhstan as well as singers from Latvia, Bulgaria, the Philippines and also a well-known group from Russia.

The concert was attended by more than 2,000 people and was by invitation only. Guests included the Mayor of Almaty, members of the Kazakh Parliament and other distinguished personalities of Kazakhstan.

The whole event was broadcast on Kazakh TV and Eleanor was also included in the release of a CD album being sold in Kazakhstan.

Eleanor’s participation was made possible following her win in the Astana Song Festival in September of 2005 where she was noted by well-known Kazakh composer Tolegen Mukhamedzhanov who also invited Eleanor to interpret two of his songs.

Her participation was such a success that she was invited to visit Kazakhstan for another concert to be held in the coming months.

Eleanor who works exclusively with Paul Giordimaina and Fleur Balzan and is managed by b. Right new media Ltd, was accompanied by Fleur Balzan.
