Razzett L-Antik last week launched its Medieval Gregorian night which will start officially next month after which the banquet will take place every Saturday night.

The atmosphere of the evening is inspired by the historical events of the turn of the 11th century, when Count Roger the Norman arrived to take over the Maltese Islands from the Arab Saracen rule.

Influenced by the great Gothic Cathedral era and the monastic paintings of the past, meals are served on banquetting tables with white covers and

terracotta chalices. Medieval and Gregorian chant is played in the background while a Semitic four-course meal is served with warm medieval bread. A knight is present to greet guests, while a monk or two and maidens in costumes serve the wine and food. Dancers complete the atmosphere for a great fun night out.

The menu including VAT, one chalice of wine and entertainment is Lm8.95 per person.

All this goes on in the courtyard. Those participating are asked to be seated by 8.30pm. The banquet is open for both group and individual bookings. The restaurant is also open with an à la carte menu with seating in rooms on the side of the courtyard. Reservations and enquiries are by email.
