Orietta Berti is looking forward to meeting her Maltese and Gozitan followers during a live concert at the Argotti Botanical Gardens in Floriana on Sunday 1 July. Berti, one of the best singers Italy has ever produced, told Norman Hamilton in Rome that Malta is one of her favourite countries and is promising the Maltese and Gozitan audiences a magical night of music while interpreting her musical successes and presenting her latest songs. Orietta Berti met Mr Hamilton during the christening of the MSC Orchestra in the port of Civitavecchia in Rome. Berti and Hamilton were among a long list of special guests invited by MSC Crociere to attend the launching of the majestic cruise liner by Sophia Loren and Ennio Morricone.

Orietta Berti will be accompanied by her musical troupe and admitted to Mr Hamilton that she has a special affection for the Maltese people who have followed her musical career during the past years. “This will not be my first time in the Maltese islands. Malta and Gozo have a special place in my heart. They simply stand in a class of their own and I am proud to be there once again,” Ms Berti confided to Mr Hamilton.
