Justin Falzon, a young Gozitan artist has just completed a Fine Arts diploma with distinction from an Art Institute in Florence, Italy. For the past two years Justin has studied Fine Arts at the prestigious Lorenzo di Medici Institute. During this period he excelled especially in portraiture.
He is very competent at exposing the soul of a person through the eyes and the position of the lips. He prefers to paint his portraits from live and in colour. This does not exclude his capacity to produce portraits in other mediums. Few people are endowed with the gift of portraiture and Justin is one of them.
Justin Falzon was born in Canada in 1982 of Gozitan parents and is now resident at Nadur, Gozo.
Justin is a self-effacing and prudent man, with a simple, transparent and refined character and a unique personality. One can easily say that Justin was born to be an artist. His sense of equilibrium and harmony, his eye for detail, his masterly ability to mix colours, his dynamism to invent and his unlimited love of the human portrait, make him indeed outstanding.
Last April, while taking part in an art exhibition, Ensable, at the Lorenzo de’ Medici Arts Institute the Florentine newspaper, La Nazione defined this young artist as unique.
Justin intends to return to the Lorenzo de’ Medici Institute for three months to prepare his portfolio and to deepen his knowledge of graphic arts and hand printing while remaining faithful to a highly disciplined artistic and craft tradition.
