Holier-than-thou Attitude

Malta Independent Monday, 4 June 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

Please, Daphne, save us this holier-than-thou attitude just because you are non-practising or a non-believer – Praise the Lord and let the people drown (TMID, 31 May). What do you know of those who go praising the Lord? What do you know of those who discriminate against people of different skin colour? Do they have “Catholic” written on their forehead? Are they non-believers, for that matter?

What have those who go talking happy about Dun Gorg got to do with people drowning in our seas?

Why is being a non-believer somewhat a guarantee of being a good person?

Save us a few appreciative words for the MUSEUM members, who dedicate so much of their time to try to teach catechism. I do believe some appreciative words can be spared.

Would you like to tell us of the good voluntary work you dedicate to our fellow human beings in distress? It would serve as an example to us all and see that among us Maltese there is an even larger number who care about fellow human beings, whatever their race.
