Gasan Enterprises said it felt that, as a car importer, it was duty bound to contribute towards offsetting carbon emissions created by cars.

David Gasan, managing director for Gasan Enterprises, said the company joined international car manufacturers in their awareness to make motoring greener, a mission which topped the agenda of major environmental institutions for

a greener environment.

With that mission statement in mind, Gasan Enterprises initiated a campaign through which it is pledging to plant a tree for every car sold, in association with the 34U campaign. Planting trees is an effective way to offset carbon – trees breathe in carbon dioxide and convert it into oxygen. A single tree can absorb one ton of carbon dioxide over its lifetime, Mr Gasan said.
