A man was conditionally discharged for three months after he was found guilty of damaging a man’s car when he kicked it repeatedly, damaging the bonnet and the driver’s door.
Christian Grixti, 28, from Sliema, was found guilty of damaging a car owned by Anthony Mizzi in August 1999.
The court heard how Mr Mizzi’s car was parked near a restaurant in Sliema and Grixti worked with the said restaurant. It heard court experts testifying that the footprints on the car’s bonnet were identical to shoes worn by the accused on the day of the incident.
Magistrate Doreen Clarke ruled that the accused was only 18 years old when the incident occurred and that Mr Mizzi had been refunded for the damage caused to his car. She therefore conditionally discharged him for three months.
Police Inspector Francis Micallef prosecuted.
