The Wind Band – East Helsinki Music Institute of Finland will be giving a concert on Sunday between 2pm and 3pm.
The popular Finnish band is made up of 50 musicians and is in Malta on the invitation of the Società Filarmonica Sliema.
The band will be playing music by Johannes Brahms (Hungarian Dance no. 5), Aleksandr Borodin (Polovetsian Dances), Georges Bizet (Carmen – Suite), Nunzio Ortolano (Viva Mexico), Elena Roussianova-Lucas (Tatarian Dances: Spring Dance and Wedding Dance), Finnish composer Jukka Viitasaari, Raina Ampuja, Esko Heikkinen, as well as compositions by Ronnie Debattista including Fanfare and Theme, which has already been played by foreign bands in the USA, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Hungary and Slovakia.
Later on Sunday afternoon, at 4pm, the Bay Street Complex will be hosting the popular Ozzy Lino, who will be changing his name to Jewls Verse – the title of his new CD album.
This performance forms part of a month-long promotion campaign by Ozzy for his new CD, Jewls Verse 777, which will be launched at Bay Street on 7 July.
