Malta Shipyards said yesterday its management was being restructured to bring focus to bear on the improvements necessary in the company’s finances.

The first change has been made at the production department, whose executive, David Kahlbom, has been informed that his position has been abolished.

Mr Kahlbom has resigned. The role of production head is to be taken over by Vince Micallef, who will be reporting directly to the chief executive.

The shipyards last year registered a loss of Lm9 million.
