A Zlatan Muslimovic early goal was enough to give Bosnia a 1-0 win over Malta in European Championship qualifying.
Muslimovic scored in the sixth minute from inside the box on a pass from Edin Dzeko.
Bosnia failed to take advantage of several scoring chances in the second half
Coach Fitzel made some changes to the Malta line-up as Luke Dimech returned in defence and Roderick Briffa in midfield after suspension. Woods and Bogdanovic also started the match with Schembri and Mallia coming on as second half substitutes.
Bosnia’s goal came when our team looked still unsettled, courtesy of another lapse of concentation in defence.
But then the Maltese settled well and in flashes, especially in the second half, threatened through Schembri and Gilbert Agius. The runs of Mifsud were always a threat to the Bosnia defence.
Bosnia could also increase their lead through efforts by Muslimovic, early in the second half and through Bartolovic but keeper Muscat, in whom Fitzel again showed faith, was up to task in every occasion.
Bosnia coach Fuad Muzurovic was taken to a hospital before the Group C match with heart trouble.
