There was an aura of disappointment in the tennis clan as the women's doubles team of Lisa Camenzuli and Sanya Jukic just failed to reach the final after a marathon semi-final which lasted almost three hours.

The Maltese pair lost against Liechtenstein girls Novak and Vogt 4-6, 7-6 (3), 6-7 (10) and had to settle for bronze.

The Maltese pair found themselves 6-4 down after a sluggish start but then showed more determination in the second set to win it on a tie break, thus levelling the encounter.

In this final set, there was balance throughout. It also had to go to the tie-break but it ended in Liechtenstein's favour, who thus won the set 7-6 (10).
