Baker Charged with loitering around the Detox Centre

A baker was yesterday denied bail after pleading not guilty to assaulting and threatening a police officer and loitering in the area of the Detox Centre without a specific reason, among other charges.

Mark George Falzon, 31, from Marsascala, who said he is a baker, was charged with assaulting and threatening Police Constable Matthew Pace, disobeying police orders, breaching the peace, swearing in public, refusing to give his details to the police and relapsing.

Before Magistrate Audrey Demicoli, the man pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him. He was refused bail and remanded in custody.

Police Inspector Mario Tonna prosecuted. Dr Franco Debono, Dr Charmaine Cherrett and Dr Marion Camilleri appeared for the accused.
