A woman was yesterday charged with defrauding a couple out of nearly Lm1,000 in May and June 2004.

Alexia Cross, 27, from St Paul’s Bay, was charged with defrauding Victor and Dorothy Gauci out of Lm919.62 and misappropriating the amount. She was also charged with forging their signatures, forging documents and using forged public documents.

Ms Cross pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against her.

Police Inspector Angelo Gafa prosecuted while Dr Roberto Montalto appeared for the accused.
