There were no medals on the final day of the Swimming programme yesterday morning.
The day started with Talisa Pace taking part in the 800m freestyle where she finished fifth in 9 mins 58.91 seconds. The winner, Anna Stylianou of Cyprus, clocked 9:16.83.
The second in action was Neil Agius in the 1,500m. He finished fifth after having been occupying fourth till midway. Emanuele Nicolini of San Marino was first in 16 mins 21.21, while second was Monaco’s Yannick Rieg in 16:22.91. Third was Marios Papagiannopoulos of Cyprus in 16:43.42.
Malta then had Angela Galea finishing sixth in the 4 x 400 medley in a time of 5:18.76.
The winner was Erla Dogg Haraldsdottir of Iceland who clocked 5:09.16.
In the men's 4 x 400 metres medley, Neil Agius was disqualified after a bad turning in the breast stroke.
In the 4 x 100m freestyle for women, the Malta team, composed of Madeleine Scerri, Nicole Cremona, Talisa Pace and Davina Mangion.
In the first 100, Madeleine Scerri was second, but at the end of the second 100, Nicole Cremona had dropped to fourth place. Talisa Pace, in the third 100, and Davina Mangion, maintained the fourth place. The team was clocked on 4:09.28.
The event was Cyprus in 3:55.06, while third were the Luxembourg swimmers in 4:00.79.
In swimming Malta collected one silver medal and three bronzes.
